My husband played through, and fell in love with, Valve's new game Portal. After joking that he wanted a "real" Companion Cube for his desk, I thought it would be fun to make him a wooden version for Christmas. Problem: we don't have a wood shop. Happily, his uncle lives near us, and has a garage full of tools. John did the cutting, and I did the sanding, staining, and gluing. All told, It took about a week of work.
