I seem to have this bad habit of leaving off at a crucial moment in a game, and coming back to it months later unprepared. Almost. It takes a minute to readjust, but I do get back into it quick. Still, fighting a boss as the first thing and while out of practice isn't exactly the ideal starting point. Or it is, as a challenge.
When we got the Wii and Super Paper Mario in April, I was playing the game every chance I could get, non-stop. And then I stopped, to make time for other things and didn't pick up the game again until last Thursday. I wanted to play some mini-games to pass time, but I was halfway into the last level and had to finish that first. Finished Part 3 and haven't had the chance to play again until today.
I beat Super Paper Mario. After putting it on hold for 4 months. I guess I'm satisfied with the ending, though it feels really happy Hollywood ending, true love prevails. The game itself was fun, but I don't consider it part of the Paper Mario series. It's more just a Mario game where you can go from 2D to 3D.
I was disappointed that the paper jokes from the first two games weren't in this one, like the slipping under the covers in the inns, or folding into a paper plane to fly across far distances. And it wasn't an RPG (in the turn based sense). Still fun though, and I still beat it.
So what next? I'm also at the last level of Kingdom Hearts. I think it's been over a year… Do I finish that first, or move on to something new (Twilight Princess)?
I've seen a few parodies based on the I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC commercials, but this one has to be the best.
If you couldn't tell, it's the upcoming Playstation 3, and Nintendo's Wii. (I still think the name is dumb, and that their codename Revolution was much better, but I still want one)
PlayNC reactivated my City of Heroes account last week to promote the release of their 2-in-1 CoH and City of Villains Good vs. Evil edition. The free time expired yesterday I think. This is the second or third time I've had my account reactivated for free (for a limited time, but still free), but I haven't had the time to play. Plus I don't have a PC anymore, but that's not really an excuse because I can always set up a virtual PC or use J's.
If I did play though, I don't know if I'd enjoy it as much as I did before. I'm pretty sure the group I played with isn't together anymore, and if they were, things would still be different. It's been a long time. That and I really don't want to get sucked into an MMO again. Every spare moment I had, I was in front of the computer and on TeamSpeak fighting bad guys. I didn't care that I had a life outside of Paragon City, I wanted to get to level 50, and then when I did, I wanted to get my other toons to 50.
The evil that is MMOs.
If you like technology and gaming and live in the NYC area (or will be
visiting there Oct 12-15), you might be interested in DigitalLife –
"the ultimate consumer technology, gaming & entertainment event of
the year" ![]()
Some of the names from their exhibitor list that I'm interested in: 1UP.com, EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly), Game Stop, Logitech, Movielink (I've used them before when I got movies for free), Napster (wondering what they've been up to since I stopped keeping track years ago), NVIDIA (free giveaways?), Square Enix, Inc., Xbox.
Unfortunately, I don't live in or around NYC and wont be visiting there soon so chances are, I won't be attending this event (luckily for me, there are plenty awesome things that take place in SF). But if you are, using the code INSIDER will get you in for free. Insert it into the "source code" box on the ticketing page.
